Kevin Nolan 'Test of Character'
he said to nufcTV
"It was a test of character against Huddersfield, no doubt about that, and credit to them. We had to fight back from two down but, with the way we've started this season, we were always confident we'd get back into it. We've build a spirit here and we'll fight to the end of every game and I think we've shown that. We've got a good mix of senior lads and a few good, young players coming though. Danny Simpson has come in and done well, we've got Tamas Kadar, Kazenga LuaLua and Nile Ranger, as well as Ryan Donaldson who was unlucky not to get on against Huddersfield. But we're just delighted to keep that winning run going and hope it continues on Monday.
They've (Leicester) had a fantastic start and Nigel Pearson has done an excellent job. He's been here as a coach and will know what it's all about and will have his lads well prepared. But we're in the middle of a great run ourselves and go into the game full of confidence."
Chris Hughton Comments
talking to The Chronicle
“What they will do is analyse their performances. And see what they did and didn’t do well. The nice feeling is that they were all on the winning side by the end. They can only learn from the experience, and it gives them the edge next time they are handed a chance.
The way we are at the moment, you want to win every game. It’s contagious when you win, and more people want to be part of that.
The Huddersfield game was always going to be an important one for us. We want to make progress in the cup there are no doubts about that. The biggest priority is to get a home tie. If anybody walked away and didn’t enjoy large parts of the game, I’d be surprised. It was a terrific night for all Newcastle fans.”
Kadar Ready to Step Up
talking to The Chronicle
“It would be bad for us if Steven Taylor or Coloccini was to go. But if they do, I know I have to be prepared. I have to do my best but I think I’m ready. Maybe I can start more, because I want to play in the first team. I hope I get the chance in the Championship.
I made my debut, and we won, so I’m happy. After it I felt a little sick. I don’t know what happened – nobody touched me. When I came inside I was sick. I was given a tablet, and the doctor said I’d be all right. I wasn’t scared though, it’s so different when you play in front of 23,000 compared to the reserves. I felt good – it was my dream to make my debut. There was too many goals, but we won, and that was important for us.“Everyone felt better afterwards. Three goals is too many to concede, but we have to forget that, because we won. For the young players it was a good moment. We learnt a lot. It was a faster tempo, and we were playing a strong team with strong people.”
Fraser Forster has joined Norwich City in a one-month loan deal.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper recently enjoyed a successful loan stint with Bristol Rovers where he kept two clean sheets during the opening five matches of the season as The Pirates climbed to fourth in League One.
And with the Canaries travelling to Hartlepool United on Saturday, Forster is set for a quick return to Victoria Park where, just last Tuesday, he was part of a Rovers side which claimed a 2-1 victory.

NEWCASTLE UNITED RES 2 CELTIC XI 4
Friendly, Benton
Thursday, August 27, 2009, Kick-off 2pm
Haris Vukic bagged a brace for Newcastle United Reserves as they went down to a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Celtic in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Benton on Thursday afternoon.
Ccoaches Chris Hughton and Colin Calderwood in attendance for the visit of the Glaswegians, Vuckic would have done his chances of winning another first-team call the world of good after a typically cultured display for Alan Thompson's second-string.
