Chris Hughton Wants All of Them To Stay he told The Chronicle

I would be very, very hopeful of that. Come Tuesday at 5pm we are looking to have a squad that is able to compete. I suppose you look at the squad today and you think if you get a couple of injuries it will test the squad even more so. But everybody is braced for a hectic day on Tuesday – some more than others. It will also settle the players down as well. Some will have had their names bandied around or there is speculation whether they are staying or going, but come 5pm on Tuesday, we’ll know whatever group of lads are in there are the ones who are fighting to get out of this division.”

Danny Simpson

talking to The Chronicle

“I have only known Chris for a little while. But since I’ve been here, he’s been fantastic. He’s very professional and puts on good sessions. I’ve really taken to him and if he gets the award he deserves it. We can’t worry about anybody else. We can only worry about our own performances. At the minute we are doing that. If we keep performing like that and putting the same effort in we’ll keep picking up the points.

Kazenga LuaLua pays tribute to Mr Calm Chris

talking to The Chronicle

“I couldn’t believe it. After going 1-0 up they hit us very quickly. They equalised and then they got a penalty. Everybody was saying that their player (Theo Robinson) was miles offside. But at half-time Chris just kept calm and told us to keep doing what we were doing. They scored again but we quickly got back into it. Even when it went to 3-1 we kept playing and eventually after Geremi scored, Shola got the pen. The game was changed after it. We had to show a lot of character. But we knew, together with our fans, we could do it. It was good to win the game by the end. When you’re 3-1 down if you try to do the right things.

This was my first start and I’m happy with it. I thought I did alright. It was a good game to play in, Chris told me when I went on to take players on and I was trying to get past their right-back every time. I just wanted to keep going and keep them under pressure. I’m pleased with my performance but just have to keep working hard.

We probably didn’t need extra time. To get the winner in normal time is what we aimed for. And it was great to see Kevin get the winner.”
