Chris Hughton Selection Conundrums "Who To Select"
talking to The Chronicle
It's something I've got to very much think over in the next couple of days.
It’s normal that everyone wants to play as many games as possible, but we have a squad of players, and what you have to be able to do is use that squad. I'm quite sure that there will be opportunities for some on Wednesday night. I also have to be mindful we've got a squad of players we need to use."
on Haris Vuckic talking to nufcTV
"Haris is in the squad, He's a young player who is very talented. He's done very well during pre-season and last year impressed for the reserves and juniors. He deserves his chance in the first-team squad and he could play some part tomorrow night."
on Winning Mentality talking to nufcTV
"It's vitally important that we get a win and go through, The most important thing for this group of lads is the feeling of being on a run of winning games. It's a long time since we've been there, it's an enjoyable feeling and one that we want to continue. We will make some changes but how many we make will be decided over the next 24 hours. It is important that we put into people's mind that it's a game we want to win and that will be reflected in the team. But, of course, it will be an opportunity for some others to come in.
It will be a big test - we were able to witness the quality of Huddersfield during pre-season. That was a very tight and very competitive game. I think they will have a very good season and I fancy them for promotion. Lee Clark will also want to come back to St.James' Park and get a result so it all makes for a good game."
on Tim Krul Goalkeeper talking to nufcTV
"Tim's response to going back to the bench after West Brom was exactly what we expected and his attitude has been terrific, What he has to do is use this time to learn from Steve Harper. He will be given a start against Huddersfield and it's another chance for him to gain some invaluable experience."
Lee Clark Huddersfield Manager and Local Hero
Lee talking to nufcTV
"I'm not really surprised at how well Newcastle are doing - I'm actually delighted for them, Most of the credit has to go to Chris Hughton and Colin Calderwood, because they seem to have got the group together and the players working hard for each other. The results they are getting is a tremendous credit to the two lads. They still have a lot of good players there and they seem to be playing at the top of their confidence. We know it will be a tough game for us.It is going to be a fantastic day for myself and my staff because of the links we have with Newcastle. It is where I grew up watching games in the early eighties and I was lucky enough to go on and play for them.
Going back is always special for me as it is my Club, but for me the only ground that comes near to matching it for atmosphere and overall experience is Old Trafford."
As far as we're concerned, we'd love to go as far as we can in the cup, The main thing that I'm looking for against Newcastle is a performance from the team. Of course, we'll be going up to Newcastle looking to cause an upset and get through to the next round. Newcastle have had a great start though, and are playing very well. We'll have to give a good performance up there and show some quality. If we do that, we'll see if it has been enough to get the result we want."

Travel Information - A1 a Mess
For all Huddersfield and Toon fan’s visiting Newcastle on Wednesday, here’s some travel information that might help you on your way..
There’s a fair amount of roadworks as you head north, allow a bit of extra time if traveling by car, the A1m northbound has various contraflow systems in place and has been especially bad from Durham onwards, expect some delays.
Plenty of speed restrictions and all average speed cameras, that doesn’t mean you should do half of the route at 80mph and the latter at 40mph.
You can find travel info on the wireless as your on your way up, and as you hit the area, you should pick up Metro Radio, BBC Newcastle and Real FM – all have decent travel info and pre-match news.
Brief info, but hope it helps.

Spiderman on "top of the world"
Jonas Gutierrez said to The Chronicle
“It was great to get two assists but I am happier that we have won the game. I always say that this is more important and I feel top of the world at the moment. We started very strongly and the win keeps us high in the table, so I’m obviously very happy.
It’s great to see the midfielders get some goals. It helps us as a team when we can all contribute and it’s also very, very good for confidence. Everybody suddenly wants the ball and when that happens, opponents will fear us going forward. Kevin and Ryan have scored which is very good for us. They were delighted after the game. After the way we finished last season to get clean sheets is great as well.“We are building up in confidence from the back. “We know we have a lot of matches to play this season and some hard games but teams know that we’ll be a tough side to play against"
on the Cup Joans said
“We just aim to keep this run going. Everybody just can’t wait for the next match now. There’s no reason why we can’t continue this for a long run.”
