Krul Should Not Be Sold
Captain Alan Smith talking to The Chronicle
“Tim was phenomenal at West Brom.
I know there has been speculation about his future, and big teams wanting to take him, but hopefully we can keep hold of him now. He was outstanding.
I know Tim is a very confident lad. He s probably put a few more million on his price tag, so hopefully he has scared a few off!
I heard he played unbelievably in Palermo.
Steve has concussion, which is a disappointment, because he is a senior member of the squad.
He will probably miss Saturday’s game, as you have to leave it a week.
It gives Tim a chance, and we have other young lads as well.
It is good experience for everyone, as not many players in that dressing room have played in the Championship.”
Ryan Taylor Happy with his Pre-Season
talking to The Chronicle
“I’m over the moon, really, This is my first full pre-season, I think, in four years. I’ve never finished a pre-season until this one I know I missed the Leyton Orient game, but the rest did me the world of good. I feel fit, which is something I haven’t felt in years. I’ve always had to play catch up throughout the season to try to get fit.
I’m absolutely buzzing to be playing in the games, because it’s all new to me at this time of year! I’ve had two leg injuries, as well as little bits and bobs. This is my first full pre-season in four years – it’s been tough, but I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I’m just happy that I’m fully fit now. We may need a few extra bodies but we’ve got enough fire and desire in the dressing room to take us to the likes of Plymouth and Cardiff and get results.
Hopefully, we’ll be at the top of the table come the end of the season.”
Jose Enrique Confident
talking to The Chronicle
“We’re feeling confident for the Reading game. West Brom were another team that are fighting to get back in the Premier League and the draw was a good result in my eyes. It was important to show people watching on TV that we are ready for this challenge. And we’ll be hoping to continue that against Reading, I think we can continue our good start and win it.
Against West Brom, we weren’t at our best in the first half but we still created chances. Now we have to start against Reading the way we finished the game. The second half was very good and after Damien Duff scored, I honestly thought ‘we can win this’. It was a good move, everybody linked up well.
It showed we have good footballers who can show their experience in this division. It’s always great to play in front of your own fans. We want to get the season off to a great start for them.”
'Enjoy The Match' Campaign

Commenting on the launch of 'Enjoy the Match', Moorhouse said: "When I started going to football the atmosphere was a lot different. The language on the terraces certainly wasn't suitable for kids my age! But the 'Enjoy the Match' campaign makes it a lot less daunting for youngsters. And parents can take them along without worrying about swearing and bad behaviour. It means that families can just enjoy watching their team, which is what going to the game is all about."
