Burnley have signed out of contract David Edgar. We will be due a fee as he came via the youth academy. The Canadian International will be missed on Tyneside, he was seen as one of the bright hopes to stay and help us get out of the Championship and back into the Premiership.

He made 7 League starts last season and 4 starts from the bench, he scored 1 goal against Liverpool at home in the 5-1 defeat on December 28th, 2008. His debut was on: December 26, 2006 against Bolton Wanderers (a)

Beye Back On Tyneside

Beye, who was supposed to return to Tyneside six days ago, told The Chronicle today:

“I am just glad to be back and feel relieved to be back at work. At one stage, I thought I wasn't’t going to leave the island. So it’s just nice to be back. After all of the traveling I still feel a little tired and jet lagged but I am looking forward to seeing my team-mates again.

I have been able to sort out a way of traveling and I will be due back in Paris on Saturday to be best man at a wedding which I also thought I was going to miss.”

Peter Lovenkrands Leaves The Club

The club informed out of contract Peter via a letter that he was no longer required. Peter signed in January on a free from a club in Germany. He scored goals against West Brom, Man Utd and the Boro. He started 8 matches and came off the bench 4 times during his short career at Newcastle

Unless we are talking serious wages then I fail to see why we did not try and keep him for the Championship season. On his limited spell at st James' Park he showed he could find the net.
