Malaysians Bid

Malaysian Group Get St James’s Park Tour

Propective buyers from the far east got a taste of the Toon on Thursday as part of their due dilgence process. It is always best to see the assets as well as read about them in a balance sheet. They visited the ground, the training centre at Benton and the Academy. Apparently they popped into Shearers, however Alan was not there.

An £80 million bid is being reported by the Chronicle - 3rd July

Robert Lee: Don't Mess Alan Shearer About

Talking to The Chronicle Lee Said:

"I think at the moment he is waiting to see what happens. However, if it drags on for too long and somebody came in and offered a job elsewhere, he might go. It would be tragic to see him be a success elsewhere when Newcastle had him well within their grasp. Of course, the deal would have to be right, but at the end of the day he wants a crack at management and he would be very good at it.

The Alan Shearer situation is frustrating. For so long everybody has wanted to see Alan as boss. They have clamoured for him to do it for so long. Now that he actually wants to do it, nobody at the club can get their act together and give him the job! It needs to be sorted out quickly

Local Boys Back In Full Training

Chris Hughton told nufcTV:

Steven Taylor and Andy Carroll both retun following ankle aliments.

"Steven is fine and is training with the main group. Andy is training but is working on a different programme for this first week or so, as is Oba Martins. But they're out on the training pitch and certainly working hard."

Barton To Birmingham on Loan?

Reports of Joey Barton being loaned for the season to Birmingham are all over Twiiter and the Web. If it is true, then his £64,000 per week salary is help start to resolve the crippling wage bill at the club.

SKY Fixture Updates

Ashley to Know Buyer By the Weekend 'Buyer Beware'

Four different groups began due diligence a fortnight ago and, having analysed the club’s accounts, all will be asked to submit final bids in the next 48 hours according to The Chronicle.

In the frame are an America-based group and South Africa-based, consortium. Somewhere behind these two groups is Freddy Shepherds bunch keen to buy a bargain.

Watching from the outside is Alan Shearer, the fans choice as the next manager of Newcastle United Football Club.

First Choice On The BBC

Newcastle have been chosen twice by the BBC as it announces its live games. One way or another Alan Shearer will get to watch Newcastle up close and personal.

West Brom away is now a 5:30 pm kick off on the 8th of August.

Ipswich Town away is now a 5:30 pm kick off on Saturday 26th of September.

Chris Hughton to Lead Pre-Season Training

While preparation begins for the season tomorrow, we still have no appointed manager due to the ongoing stalemate with Mike Ashley. As serious buyers pore over the books, we continue to be run without due care or attention!

talking to The Chronicle Chris Hughton said:

“Everything will be done properly with the group of players that is there. Everything going on outside of that has to stay outside of it. Whatever the situation will be, when it comes to the first day of pre-season training, the players will go through a good and correct programme for however long it is until someone takes over. The most important thing is that the players get a pre-season under their belts. Everything has to be done properly by the staff and players. Colin’s here in the short term until we know what’s going to happen.”

Chris will be supported by backroom team of Colin Calderwood and goal keeping coach Paul Barron. The youth team will be run by Richard Money and the reserve team by Alan Thompson.

The international players have been given an extra week off to recover from their summer exploits,

Therefore by Niall and Biffas reckoning over at nufc.com the player roll call looks like this:

Goalkeepers: Harper, Krul (Forster, Soderberg)

Defenders: Beye, Coloccini, Enrique (Kadar, Lough, Morris, Tavernier, Tozer)

Midfielder's: Barton, Butt, Guthrie, Nolan, R.Taylor (Donaldson, Ferguson, Godsmark, Inman, Vuckic)

Strikers: Ameobi, Carroll, Smith, LuaLua (Baheng, Danquah, Ranger, Zamblera)

Injured: Martins (hernia), S.Taylor (Achilles tbc)

Still on holiday (post international duty): Bassong, Duff, Geremi, Gutierrez, Xisco

David Edgar Signs on for Burnley

Burnley have signed out of contract David Edgar. We will be due a fee as he came via the youth academy. The Canadian International will be missed on Tyneside, he was seen as one of the bright hopes to stay and help us get out of the Championship and back into the Premiership. He made 7 League starts last season and 4 starts from the bench, he scored 1 goal against Liverpool at home in the 5-1 defeat on December 28th, 2008. His debut was on: December 26, 2006 against Bolton Wanderers (a)

Peter Lovenkrands Leaves The Club

The club informed out of contract Peter via a letter that he was no longer required. Peter signed in January on a free from a club in Germany. He scored goals against West Brom, Man Utd and the Boro. He started 8 matches and came off the bench 4 times during his short career at Newcastle

Unless we are talking serious wages then I fail to see why we did not try and keep him for the Championship season. On his limited spell at st James' Park he showed he could find the net.

Seasiders v Toon Clash Switched

Blackpool's home clash with Newcastle United has been put back 24 hours and will now be played on Wednesday, September 16.

The Championship showdown will kick off at 7.45pm at Bloomfield Road.

The meeting will be the first encounter between the sides since 1987, when Newcastle won a two-legged League Cup tie 4-2 on aggregate

Holding Beye in the Caribbean

No need to Johnny Panic as Habib lost his passport while on holiday in St Barts on Tuesday.

reported by The Chronicle:

A source close to Beye told the Chronicle: “Habib is obviously anxious to be back in time for training on the first day. “There is nothing suspicious about it, he simply misplaced his passport. “He’s had to get a letter from the police in St Barts to allow him back into France and after that he will go through the usual procedure of getting a new passport to allow him to travel normally again. “Obviously the anxiety of the situation has been tough on Habib and he will also have to shake off the jet lag from flying across the pond. “It might take him a while to get back up to speed but he’s the ultimate professional and would’t dream of letting anybody at Newcastle down.”

Simply put Habib lost his passport!
